Dental Questions Warrenton

Questions about your upcoming appointment? We’ve got the answers!

We value straightforward, honest communication at Drs. Yung and Jelinek Family Dentistry. Just like many of our patients, you probably have questions about your dental care and how to keep your smile healthy.

I promise you, we have answers. Below are some of the most commonly asked questions we get asked every day. If you have a different question or would like to make an appointment, please feel free to reach out to us.

Yes, you can! We designed our in-house Platinum Club just for people who don’t have dental insurance but still want to get affordable, comprehensive smile care. Here’s a quick rundown of the Platinum Club’s annual benefits. Call us if you’d like additional information.

  • Two dental cleanings and exams per year
  • One set of bite-wing X-rays
  • One emergency exam, if needed
  • 12-15 percent discount on all other services

Don’t worry – many of our patients were once a little (or a lot) nervous just like you! Our caring staff will take all the time needed to make sure you’re completely relaxed. Need a pillow, blanket, or headphones? Just ask. Plus, we have several great sedation options if you’d like. You can choose between laughing gas, oral sedation, or IV sedation if you’re really nervous. You’ll be in good hands with our competent staff and dentists.

Yes! If you call us in the morning, we’ll see you on the same day. We offer sedation so that you can get painless treatment and stay completely relaxed the whole time. Regardless of what is causing the pain in your mouth, we can help you find a solution and get back to normal as quickly as possible.

Dental X-rays help your dentist stay ahead of developing cavities, gum disease, and other potential issues with your oral health. There are several different types of dental X-rays, including intraoral (taken inside your mouth) and extraoral (taken outside your mouth) that provide valuable information about the overall health of your mouth that wouldn’t be visible otherwise.

If you’ve suffered a broken tooth, we have several options to complete your smile and get you back to health. Depending on the severity of the break and your oral health needs and goals, your dentist may suggest either a crown, veneer, dental implant, dental bonding, dental sealants, or a filling.

Sometimes, a filling isn’t the right solution for your oral health. When a tooth is severely broken or decayed, it won’t have enough natural tooth structure to allow a filling to stay in place. In that case, your dentist may recommend other treatments such as a crown or removing the damaged tooth entirely.

At Drs. Yung and Jelinek Family Dentistry, we have years of experience treating patients who struggle with dental anxiety. That’s why we’re proud to offer several different sedation therapy options to calm your nerves and ensure a safe and comfortable procedure. We offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, or IV sedation, and depending on your specific needs and treatments, your doctor will discuss sedation options and help choose which is the best fit for you.

In the case of gingivitis or periodontitis, a normal teeth cleaning not only won’t be effective but could actually cause more harm by allowing bacteria to remain trapped below your gums. When it comes to these diseases, non-surgical gum treatments or non-surgical periodontal treatments are the only effective solutions to protecting your teeth and restoring your oral health.

The short answer is no! Fluoride is a mineral found naturally in water, soil, and air. The American Dental Association recommends fluoride toothpaste for both children and adults to prevent cavities, strengthen weakened tooth enamel, reverse early tooth decay, mitigate the growth of oral bacteria, and slow the loss of minerals from tooth enamel.
